On Saturday, Bruce Brown scored a season-high 30 points to help the Indiana Pacers defeat the Miami Heat 144-129. The Pacers split their two games in Miami after falling to the Heat on Thursday, with Obi Toppin scoring 22 points. T.J. McConnell and Aaron Nesmith each had 20 points, Myles Turner had 17, and Bennedict Mathurin had 16. Brown shot 11-for-16 from the field, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc.

Miami’s Jimmy Butler led the way with 33 points on 12-of-23 shooting from the field. Caleb Martin had 18 points, Duncan Robinson had 17, and Josh Richardson and Orlando Robinson both had 16 points. Indiana, the league’s leading scorer, maintained its offensive dominance, connecting on 56 of its 85 (65.9 percent) attempts.

Indiana had an early 5-4 lead that lasted barely 16 seconds, the Pacers’ sole lead of the first half. Indiana tied the game at 65 at halftime thanks to a 40-point second quarter.

With 13 points each, Nesmith and Mathurin led Indiana in the first half. Duncan Robinson led the Heat with 15 points in the first half, and Richardson scored 14. Tyrese Haliburton, Indiana’s leading scorer, was ruled out due to a knee injury.

Haliburton, who is averaging 27 points per game, scored 44 points in Thursday’s loss to the Heat. Bam Adebayo, Miami’s second-leading scorer and rebounder, was out with a hip injury suffered against the Pacers on Thursday.
