The 27-year-old from Nottingham Forest may have played in his final match under Nuno as transfer…

Paul Merson posted two comical tweets last night regarding Nottingham Forest last night as Luton and Bournemouth served up a Premier League classic.

At half-time, Luton were 3-0 up and going above Forest on goal difference. By the end, they’d lost 4-3 and were still three points below the Reds going into Saturday’s six-pointer.

So, what did Merson have to say on an emotionally draining night in the Premier League? Let’s take a closer look at how the pundit reacted…

What Paul Merson said about Nottingham Forest last night

Well, it’s fair to say that nobody saw a game of this magnitude coming. With Bournemouth having little to play for, it wasn’t overly surprising that Luton raced out of the blocks and went 3-0 up.

It was a return to the ground for Luton where they’d seen their captain, Tom Lockyer, have a cardiac arrest on the pitch back in December.

As a result, they were up for the game and scored three goals all inside the first 45 minutes. Merson felt it was time to start worrying for Forest, Everton and Brentford, posting on X:

Whatever Andrea Iraola said at half-time clearly had more impact than the words that Rob Edwards left his Luton team with.
