The Boston Celtics defeated the visiting Golden State Warriors 140-88 on Sunday, extending their winning streak to 11 games thanks to a strong first half.
Boston led 82-38 at the half after making 15 of their 24 3-point attempts in the first two quarters. Boston had the biggest halftime advantage in the team’s history, leading by 44 points.
In the first half, the Celtics made 30 of 50 field goals at a 60 percent shooting clip and only had one turnover. In the second quarter, the Warriors were behind by as many as forty-five points. For the entirety or most of the second half, each club rested their starters.
With 29 points, Jaylen Brown led Boston, and 26-year-old Jayson Tatum chipped in with another 27. In the victory, Boston made 25 of 49 3-pointers (51 percent).
For the Warriors, who were behind 115-62 after three quarters, Lester Quinones scored a team-high 17 points. In the fourth, Boston had a 56-point lead. After shooting 2 for 13 from the field (0 for 9 from 3-point range) in the first half, Stephen Curry finished with 4 points. The second half saw him not play.
