According to a Sky expert, the 23-year-old England star would be an ideal addition for Tottenham this month

Sky Sports pundit Darren Ambrose has claimed that Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher would be a great fit for Tottenham Hotspur if they can sign him this month.

Spurs are busy looking for a new centre-back in this window. Radu Dragusin seems like the man they want to bring in, but elsewhere on the pitch, they have been heavily linked with a move to sign Gallagher from Chelsea.

Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher would be perfect for Tottenham

Conor Gallagher has been one of Chelsea’s better players this season.

The Blues haven’t had a great campaign at all. They’ve won just eight of their first 20 games in the Premier League and are currently 10th in the table – closer to 20th than to first.

Todd Boehly is expected to spend more money than he already has this month, but there are a few players he could end up selling as well.

One such player is Gallagher, and reports have heavily linked him with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the coming weeks. Darren Ambrose has backed that move on Sky Sports, claiming the midfielder would be a great fit in Ange Postecoglou‘s side.

The pundit said: “I’m surprised that Chelsea would let him (Gallagher) go given the current circumstance they find themselves in. He fits Spurs, 100 per cent…

“When he was at Crystal Palace he played a role further forward… Not only that he works extremely hard. He’s on the front foot and that’s what I’ve seen from Spurs this season.

“I think he would definitely fit the bill for Tottenham.”

Gallagher could explode at Tottenham

Mauricio Pochettino’s style of football is definitely an attractive one, but what Ange Postecoglou is doing at Tottenham is much more fun to watch.

Spurs fans had to endure terrible football for years under Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and arguably the worst of all under Antonio Conte.

Postecoglou has completely turned it on its head now, and a player like Conor Gallagher could really take his game to a whole new level if he joins Tottenham.

The 23-year-old England international’s work ethic combined with his quality on the ball across different midfield positions would make him a brilliant player for Postecoglou to have.

Chelsea would be really silly to let Gallagher go, but if they do, Tottenham should be all over that deal this month.
