Auburn wins the commitment of 4-star cornerback Donovan Starr
Fresh off his first visit to The Plains, 4-star cornerback Donovan Starr has committed to Auburn, he announced in a post to social media Thursday.
“I just got that feeling, it felt like home and when you know you know,” Starr wrote in his announcement.
Prior to Thursday’s commitment, Starr had also recently visited Tennessee and Clemson.
In addition to Auburn, 31 other programs have extended offers to Starr, including Florida, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss and others.
In joining committing to the Tigers, Auburn’s ninth-ranked 2025 recruiting class has swelled to 12 commits. Starr joins the class with fellow 4-star cornerback Devin Williams and 3-star cornerback Dante Core.
Auburn Tigers News: Donovan Starr commits to Auburn, Juju Lewis talks official visit
In today’s edition of Auburn Tigers News, the Auburn football picks up another commit in Donovan Starr and QB Juju Lewis previews his official visit to the Plains
4-star cornerback Donovan Starr made his way to the Plains earlier this week for an official visit, and by the time he left, his decision was made. Thursday afternoon, the Tennessee native announced his commitment to the Auburn football program.
Starr is ranked as the #14 recruit out of Tennessee and the #35 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2025. The CB has been primarily recruited by cornerbacks coach Wesley McGriff and the pair have built a strong relationship. Starr recently visited Clemson and planned trips to Missouri, Illinois, and possibly Tennessee, but after his Auburn visit told Auburn Undercover the people on the Plains made his decision easy.
“Really just the people,” Starr said. “The people here are great. They show a lot of love. I was with Keionte a lot. He was a great role model and he told me a lot of things and I learned a lot from him. Just being around him and some of the players, seeing how they interact with each other. That meant a lot to me.”
Juju Lewis previews official visit to the Plains
One of the top targets on the board for the Auburn football program is 5-star quarterback Juju Lewis. He was on the Plains earlier this week to participate in Auburn’s 7-on-7 competition and will return next weekend for his official visit with the Tigers.
Though Lewis, the #2 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2025, has been committed to USC since August, the Tigers have been recruiting him hard. On his official visit, he’s looking forward to spending time with his would-be teammates and getting a feel for the team.
“I mean, shoot, just actually getting to hang out with the players,” Lewis said, per Rivals. “I’ve always just talked to the coaches. I’ve talked to certain guys, but actually experiencing the environment, stuff like that, that’s my big thing.”
Lewis will take on more official visit after Auburn, to Colorado, and hopes to make a final decision about where he will play college ball before his senior season starts this fall.
