Big Signings: Dodgers swing blockbuster trade to land $70 million All-Star closer, as Dodgers take advantage of their World Series title to exploit…Learn More

The Los Angeles Dodgers have already made some big signings in free agency this offseason. They could be a candidate to trade for one of the best relievers in Major League Baseball.

While listing teams that could trade for Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams, FanSided’s Eric Treuden noted the Dodgers have what it takes to pull off a deal to land him.

“Anytime the Dodgers have a need around their roster, they are guaranteed to have the resources to fill it properly. The reigning World Champions don’t have very many ways they need to upgrade their roster this offseason, but a look at their depth chart suggests they don’t have a true closer,” wrote Trueden.

Spotrac projects Williams to sign a five-year, $70 million deal in free agency after next season. However, just as the Brewers did with Josh Hader, they could trade him for prospects before he eventually walks. Williams is a two-time All-Star and two-time National League Trevor Hoffman Reliever of the Year.

Micheal Kopech and Evan Phillips were essentially the Dodgers’ closers last year. However, Williams eliminates any need for a closer-by-committee approach. Adding Williams could make the Dodgers bullpen truly elite, allowing Kopech to serve as a setup man.

“L.A. has the prospect depth needed to pull off a trade and the Brewers could even target someone who’s big-league ready like Wisconsinite Gavin Lux in talks,” wrote Treuden.

The Brewers would want a decent package from the Dodgers, but considering Williams has just one year left before free agency they may not get what they expect. Williams has a track record of postseason struggles and injuries, potentially lowering his trade value.

The Dodgers take advantage of their World Series title to exploit the trophy with an exclusive event

The Los Angeles Dodgers are taking their World Series celebration to the fans with a unique experience that will allow fans to get up close to the World Series trophy and take memorable photos.

The World Series Trophy Photo Experience will take place this December, offering an exclusive opportunity to commemorate your team’s victory.

Just a month after securing the 2024 World Series title, the Dodgers are still celebrating their long-awaited championship, and this is a special way to join the party.

On December 7, 8, 14 and 15, fans will have the opportunity to get up close to the iconic trophy, take unique photos and enjoy a tour of the stadium, which will include stops at the Vin Scully Press Box and exclusive photo opportunities.

Tickets will cost $67.25 for adults and $47.25 for children under 14, while children under three years of age will be able to access free of charge.

Due to limited availability, tickets must be purchased in advance, and the event will be wheelchair accessible.

However, access to the field and dugout will not be available due to renovations that will take place until 2025.

This event is not only an opportunity to take photos, but also a way to connect with the legacy of the Dodgers, celebrating their World Series victory in such an iconic location.

Fans should arrive early, charge their phones and, if they wish, dress in their World Series championship gear to make the most of the photo session.

In addition to this exclusive event, the team has made significant moves to strengthen its future. The Dodgers have signed super-utility player Tommy Edman to a five-year, $74 million contract that will keep him with the team until at least 2029.

Edman has proven to be a valuable player since his arrival at the 2024 trade deadline, standing out for his versatility in the field and his impact in the National League Championship Series, where he drove in 11 runs.

This deal also provides financial flexibility for both Edman and the Dodgers, cementing their long-term plan to continue to pursue championships.
