Blockbuster: These are the Biggest Targets for the 76ers at the Trade Deadline

Three(3) Key Trade Deadline targets for the 76ers (and what they’d cost), 76ers has recently taken a disastrous turn looking hungry for a championship…..

What was once a promising season for the Philadelphia 76ers has recently taken a disastrous turn. Just as Joel Embiid was playing like a reigning MVP and looking hungry for a championship, he is now set to miss extended time due to a meniscus injury.

The 76ers are of course devastated by the news, but no one is going to feel sorry for them. In the meantime, they must seek to get better while Embiid works on returning to the court. With the trade deadline just a few short days away, we will look at four dream targets for Philadelphia, along with what each player would likely cost them to acquire.

1. Andre Drummond

With Embiid out of the lineup, one of the obvious needs for the Sixers becomes frontcourt depth. Paul Reed is currently starting at center, and having to rely on him for any type of scoring or rebounding for an extended stretch is simply not a good business model.

Drummond brings a polished rebounding and rim protecting presence to any team. His offense does not extend outside the paint, but he is lethal in pick-and-roll actions with any capable ball handler.

As for what the 76ers would have to give up to acquire him, the Bulls would likely be asking for multiple second-rounders along with an additional player or two.

2. Bruce Brown

One of the hottest names on the trade market, Bruce Brown has been in rumors for numerous teams around the league. It is no surprise that he is such a hot commodity given his offensive prowess and ability to provide a spark to an offense.

Brown has bounced around since winning the NBA championship with the Nuggets last June. Signing with the Indiana Pacers in the offseason, he was re-routed to Toronto in the trade for Pascal Siakam. With Bruce now in a city he did not ask to be in, many are speculating that he would like to get out sooner rather than later.

The hole Brown would be able to fill in Philadelphia is the one involving perimeter creation. Outside of Tyrese Maxey, the team is sorely lacking in guards who can create their own shot. Getting someone as elite as Bruce in that category would go a long way toward helping the Sixers stay alive in the East playoff race.

By all accounts, Philly would almost certainly have to give up a first-round pick in order to acquire Brown. Raptors President Masai Ujiri is reportedly asking teams for a package revolving around a first-rounder in exchange for Bruce.

3. Bojan Bogdanovic

Another player Philadelphia would be thrilled to add to their backcourt is Bojan Bogdanovic. Some may not take note of his play simply for the fact that he is on the worst team in the association record-wise, but Bogdanovic has been putting up big numbers for the Detroit Pistons this season.

After averaging a career-high 21.6 points in Detroit last season, Bogey was popular in trade rumors last season as well. Continuing his efforts this season with a 20.2 scoring mark and shooting 41.5% from beyond the arc, he will once again be a prime trade target for multiple contenders.

With the 76ers needing production in the backcourt, Bogdanovic would be the perfect option for Head Coach Nick Nurse to sub in the game when Maxey needs a rest. Bogey provides enough of a scoring punch and offensive gravity to open up opportunities for teammates and could help keep the Sixers afloat in non-Maxey minutes with Embiid out.

In the past, the Pistons’ asking price for Bojan had been “a first-round pick and a prized young player.” There is little reason to think they have budged at all on that request. If the 76ers see this season as their best shot at a championship and they still believe Embiid will come back looking like himself, a trade here could be worth it.
