NBA: BOSTON CELTICS SECURE NINTH STRAIGHT WIN BY BEATING CHICAGO BULLS, KEVIN DURANT, DEVIN BOOKER STAR FOR PHOENIX SUNS
There appears to be no stopping the Boston Celtics at the moment after they claimed a ninth consecutive victory to overcome the Chicago Bulls in a display of supreme confidence. Meanwhile, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant turned on the style to claim 32 and 25 points respectively in a 131-106 victory for the Phoenix Suns over the San Antonio Spurs.
Boston Celtics continued their imperious form after claiming a ninth straight win with a 124-113 win over the Chicago Bulls.
Jayson Tatum was the star of the show after scoring 26 points, while Sam Hauser and Al Horford added another 23 each to extend the best current winning streak in the NBA.
DeMar DeRozan led the way with 26 points for Chicago, while Alex Caruso, Nikola Vucevic and Ayo Dosunmu claimed a further 14 points each for the Bulls in their second consecutive defeat.
It was a case of what might have been for Chicago, who led 92-91 as the third quarter came to a close after Dalen Terry managed a superb tip-in dunk off.
However, that prompted Boston into action after Payton Pritchard kick-started a nine-point spree to turn the match in their favour which included two free throws.
“We’re just hungry for more,” Hauser said in quotes published by PA.
“It’s not in our character to just, like, mail it in for the rest of the season.”
In total, the Celtics managed to score 13 from their 27 3-pointers, with Hauser and Horford netting four and three of those respectively.
Boston will now turn their attention to a match away at the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, while the Bulls are in action at home to the Washington Wizards on the same day.
Meanwhile, Devin Booker produced a masterful performance to score 32 points in a 131-106 win for the Phoenix Suns over the San Antonio Spurs.
Kevin Durant claimed another 25 in a dominant display from the Arizona outfit, who did not trail the Suns at any point during the contest.
Victor Wembanyama produced his best efforts to turn the tide in San Antonio’s favour with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists, but could not prevent the Texans from succumbing to a third consecutive defeat.
This is what we have been working for and toward all season,” Booker said in quotes published by PA.
“I think the timing is right. It’s the meat of the season and it’s time to lock in and get prepared for postseason.”

“We found a rhythm and that directly translates to the offensive side of the ball. You don’t want to get complacent. We have a lot to work on, but we are taking steps in the right direction.”
The two teams will do it all again in the early hours of Tuesday morning at midnight, UK time.
