Will Joel Embiid be Ready Despite 76ers Injury Report After Scare Against Nets?
Joel Embiid will play against the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
The Philadelphia 76ers caught their breath for a moment during the second half of Sunday’s game, fearing that All-Star big man Joel Embiid had been injured.
While Embiid was posting up to potentially jump for a rebound, Nets veteran Cam Johnson slipped over and collided with Embiid’s leg from behind, causing the big to collapse to the ground. The Sixers were alarmed when Embiid remained on the floor for an extended period of time.
Thankfully, Embiid did not leave the game. He played the entire third quarter before falling asleep for the remainder of the night. Although he did not return in the fourth quarter, his absence was due to the Sixers comfortably controlling the game, not to any agony from a potential setback.
The 76ers’ injury report indicated that Embiid is alright following his scare. Embiid was not noted when the Sixers submitted their report on Monday night, indicating that he is available for Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Embiid’s name has recently appeared on the injury report. Embiid was questionable for last Tuesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers due to hip pain. He was a game-time decision who was eventually cleared to play.
The same thing happened the next night. Embiid was questionable in the second half of a back-to-back set and was seen as a game-time decision. He played once more. Embiid was doubtful for the third time in three games against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. Fortunately, the trend came to an end on Sunday, when Embiid was removed from the injury report for the game against the Nets.
That will be the case again on Tuesday, when the Sixers face the Cavaliers in another In-Season Tournament clash.

The 76ers’ next Game against the Celtics has been Moved to Primetime.
The next game between the 76ers and the Celtics will be shown on primetime television.
The Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics will square off for the third time this season soon. On December 1, the two teams will square off at TD Garden for the first time in the regular season series to see who will take the lead in the Eastern Conference race.
With the Sixers’ rivalry with the Celtics still having a lot of clout these days, ESPN has decided to move the game into primetime, removing the matchups with the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks.
The Grizzlies haven’t been one of the better teams in the Western Conference lately, failing to replicate their success from last season. Memphis has only three victories after 13 games, putting them firmly out of the early postseason picture.
As a result, the NBA has decided that Memphis’ game versus the 9-5 Mavericks would not be as entertaining in the national spotlight as the battle between the two best teams in the East.
The Sixers are currently in second position with a 10-3 record. They are half a game behind the Boston Celtics, who are 11-3.
When the two teams met for the first time a few weeks ago, the Sixers were riding one of the NBA’s most impressive victory streaks this season and easily defeated Boston. The Celtics won the rematch a week later, handing the Sixers their first pair of straight losses this season.
The Sixers and the Celtics will square off on December 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
