One of the finest players in the Premier League this season, according to BBC pundit, is the £45 million man Tottenham wants to sign
Glenn Murray has heaped praise on reported Tottenham Hotspur target Conor Gallagher after watching him play for Chelsea last night.
The Englishman missed a couple of chances in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool, but he scored the winner for the Blues against Leeds United in the FA Cup yesterday. It’s no surprise that Tottenham are interested in signing him.
Tottenham target Conor Gallagher has been one of the best players in the Premier League
Conor Gallagher‘s Chelsea future is up in the air and Tottenham have been keeping a close eye on the situation.
The Englishman is having a fine season. His side haven’t been great at all, but he has definitely been one of their shining lights over the last few months.
Gallagher stepped up for Chelsea against Leeds last night. The 24-year-old, whose side were under pressure, scored a 90th-minute winner to send them through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The midfielder’s performance impressed a lot of people, including Glenn Murray.
The former Brighton and Crystal Palace striker claimed that Gallagher has been one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
Murray told BBC Sport: “For me, Conor Gallagher is one of the standout performers this season. I like what he does – he adds an energy to the way Chelsea play.
“Disappointing performance from Chelsea, there were flashes of what they are capable of and the game did drift away from them. The way they are not killing teams at the moment, I suppose when you step away it is a positive result, but the manner in which it came was a little disappointing.”
Conor Gallagher would be even better at Tottenham
Chelsea are having a terrible season.
The Blues may have qualified for the next round of the FA Cup, but they are currently 11th in the Premier League table. That is shocking considering the amount of money they’ve spent on their squad.
Gallagher, however, has been one of their best players despite how poor many around him have been. If you take him and put him in a better club where there are better players, we’re convinced he will perform even better.
That team could be Tottenham in the summer, and it has been claimed that Spurs believe they can get him for £45 million.
