Stott gets special treatment at a Flyers game
When thinking about Philadelphia sports figures right now, Bryce Harper has to be at the top of the list. His personality, elite performances and love for the city has catapulted him into being one of the most beloved athletes that plays in Philadelphia.
He’s also a big reason why the Philadelphia Phillies have become one of the best teams in the league and figure to be for years to come.
But with him out for the early part of last season, some other players had to step up in his absence.
Bryson Stott became a star during 2023 for the Phillies, posting a slash line of .280/.329/.419 with 15 home runs and 62 RBI during his second professional season. He was also an elite defender, becoming a National League finalist for the Gold Glove award.
The second baseman figures to be part of the organization for a while considering that he’s only 26 years old and continues growing as a player.
Stott also took a page out of Harper’s book in supporting other Philadelphia teams. He was spotted at a Philadelphia Flyers game on Monday night and was given star treatment as he was spotlighted on the jumbotron.
Mashups between the different teams in the city on social media is commonplace now, but the Flyers’ X account gave a special nod to his “A-O-K” walkup song that has taken over the stadium during Phillies games.
