The Cavaliers’ Jarrett Allen’s Ankle Injury has been Reported.
Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen provided an extensive update on his left ankle injury during an interview with HoopsHype’s Sam Yip.
Allen was sidelined for the first five games of the season due to a left ankle injury.
“It’s feeling great,” Allen added. “Actually, I haven’t felt it in a long time. The time off did wonders for it. “All I was trying to do was get back into my body.”
Allen has appeared in eight Cavaliers games this season. He’s averaging 12.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 blocks a game while shooting 63.5% from the field and 73.2% from the line.
Allen, 25, told Yip that he’s “pretty sure” his minute limit “is at my regular playing time now.”
“I don’t really know to be honest with you, I’m pretty sure the minute restriction is at my regular playing time now,” Allen was quoted as saying. “So I’m ready to resume normal gameplay now.” At this time, I’m just getting my breath back. I’m approximately 90% sure I’m out there. There’s still certain stuff I need to get used to, whether it’s timing or pick and rolls or just guarding someone. But, aside from that, I feel like I’m getting close.”
The Cavaliers have a 7-6 record this season. They are attempting to make the playoffs for the second consecutive year. Allen focused on his playmaking during the offseason to help Cleveland become more dynamic on offense.
“For me, it’s playmaking, like catching it in the pocket and whether it’s a one dribble drive to the rim or hitting an open man,” Allen went on to say. “That’s something that I really took to heart this year knowing that we’re gonna add extra spacing and extra people to knock down shots.”
