According to Ben Dinnery, Brighton star Tariq Lamptey is in contention to start against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The injury specialist said on his own Twitter account on 3 November that the Ghanaian international will most likely replace the injured Pervis Estupinan against the Toffees after missing the previous four games.
Dinnery also shared that key Seagulls duo Danny Welbeck and Solly March are long-term absentees for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.
He tweeted: “Tariq Lamptey is in contention for the trip to Goodison Park on Saturday. The defender has missed the last four matches after picking up a muscle injury against Marseille, and he could slot in at left-back with Pervis Estupinan still out.
“Danny Welbeck and Solly March are out long-term.”
Sean Dyche’s men pulled off an amazing tactical masterstroke on their route to Premier League safety against Brighton the previous time they met.
Dwight McNeil and Abdoulaye Doucoure both hit doubles, and a Jason Steele own-goal sealed a 5-1 victory at American Express Stadium, one of the season’s biggest surprises after the Seagulls’ rapid climb under Roberto de Zerbi.
Can Dyche’s men draw inspiration from that game again on Saturday? Despite their good position in the table, the way Brighton is defending right now, losing 19 goals in ten Premier League games, could give Everton plenty of hope.
Furthermore, despite some noteworthy absences from their team, the Seagulls will pose a strong threat to Everton on Saturday due to the young and blossoming quality they possess all over the pitch.
The Toffees’ win over West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday demonstrated their ability to stifle brilliant attacks, and Brighton has one of the most entertaining in the division.
But it won’t stop Dyche from pulling off another surprise victory, and Everton’s fans will be firmly behind them.
