The Celtics won the game tonight, according to Jaylen Brown on the bench

The Boston Celtics are now one win away from their 50th after getting back in the win column, defeating the Phoenix Suns 117-107.

The Celtics shot 38.9 percent from distance, thanks to the dominance of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, who got going in the second half to help the two lead the way with eight threes together.

Boston did a good job of holding the Suns off the three-point line late. Jrue Holiday also made three triples of his own on the other end to give him 15 points and six assists on 5-7 from the field. Al Horford had a near double-double with a clutch three to give the Celtics back their eight-point edge.

Brown, the East Player of the Week, continued to perform like his All-NBA self with 27 points. The All-Star forward gave Boston’s second unit their deserving praise, led by Luke Kornet’s dazzling play and Payton Pritchard’s production.

“They won us the game tonight,” Brown said. “Payton, Luke, Sam (Hauser), their energy, their plays, their effort—they were the reason why we probably won the game tonight.”

The Celtics will finish their road trip with a back-to-back in Portland and Utah before heading back home to face the Suns again in Boston.
