Chicago Bears Make an Entertaining Trade Offer to Caleb Williams in Exchange for a Veteran Weapon
The Chicago Bears have an opportunity to start anew with a potential franchise quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. They are largely projected to pick Caleb Williams with the no. 1 overall pick, a move that could steer them in the right direction after years of failure with Justin Fields.
Chicago Bears Could Help Caleb Williams or Any New QB They Pick
With a new QB in tow, the Bears could do him a solid move by acquiring some weapons that would make his life easier and quickly get him into rhythm. Enter Stefon Diggs.
Diggs could very well be the perfect weapon the Bears could pair with their upcoming QB–who, again, is likely Williams. Diggs will give them a true no. 1 wide receiver, someone who is experienced enough to guide their rookie signal-caller and help elevate him.
While it’s unknown how much the Bills value Diggs, it’s remains possible that they part ways with him considering his previous show of dissatisfaction.
In a recent piece by Maurice Moton of Bleacher Report, the potential packages that teams can offer for Diggs were discussed. In the case of the Bears, it is projected that they would have to give up their other first-round pick at no. 9 overall to get the 30-year-old wideout.
And for the Bears, it certainly makes sense to get Diggs since it will fast-track their rebuild. Instead of getting another rookie, they can get a proven weapon that will be able to maximize their new quarterback’s abilities.
For what it’s worth, Moton recommended for the Bears to try to trade down from the ninth pick instead of giving up the no. 9 pick straight up since it can be deemed too much for a 30-year-old wide receiver. If not, Chicago can ask for extra draft compensation from the Bills to make the deal work.
Whatever they chose to do, getting Diggs should be a dream scenario for the Bears.
