Colossal: Ahead the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers make a significant trade…

Big Green Bay Packers – Cincinnati Bengals Trade Picking Up Steam Hours Before 2024 NFL Draft, Packers land a future cornerstone piece to their defense thanks to the Bengals…..

The Green Bay Packers and Cincinnati Bengals are looking to compete for a Super Bowl in 2024.  Both teams seem to have their franchise quarterback and a plethora of young talent surrounding him.  The Packers surprised everyone in 2023 by coming up just three points shy of the NFC Championship game.  The Bengals suffered a brutal injury to their star quarterback Joe Burrow, and finished just 9-8 on the year.

Both teams will look to get healthy in their own right for 2024 and compete for a playoff push.  That being said, the two teams could be in business with each other in just over 24 hours.

Freddie Boston of FanSided highlighted how the Packers could land a future cornerstone piece to their defense thanks to the Bengals:

Green Bay could move up for one of the top offensive tackle or cornerback prospects, adding a player at a premium position and an area of need. Alabama’s Terrion Arnold was still on the board at No. 18, making this an easy choice with home-run potential.

If Arnold falls this far, the Packers should pick up the phone and make a deal. The Alabama star is the ninth-best prospect in the class, according to Daniel Jeremiah’s rankings for NFL.com.

“I struggled to find much to criticize in Arnold’s play, despite his lack of experience at the position, having arrived at Alabama as a highly regarded safety prospect. He has all the tools and traits to be a Pro Bowl-caliber cornerback,” writes Jeremiah.

Arnold is coming off an outstanding season for Alabama, breaking up 12 passes and intercepting five. He plays mostly on the outside but also spent some time in the slot.

A first-team All-American and All-SEC, Arnold has superstar potential in the NFL and could form an outstanding combination with Jaire Alexander in Jeff Hafley’s defense.

Will The Packers Trade Up In The 2024 NFL Draft?

The Packers have 11 draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.  That’s tied for most of any team this year.  On top of that, five of those picks are in the first three rounds.  That gives Green Bay a ton of firepower to trade up if they see a player they love falling in round one.

However, according to Zach Jacobson of The Packers Report:

Brian Gutekunst said he’d love to have “13, 14 or more” picks in this week’s draft.

The Packers are already tied for the most picks in the league with 11, so expect some movement.

It could be even more likely that the Packers trade down in the 2024 NFL Draft to acquire more draft picks.  Brian Gutekunst may feel like multiple early to mid round picks could be more valuable than giving up draft capital for one person.

It will be interesting to see what Green Bay does.  The first round kicks off on Thursday, April 25th 7pm central time.
