Randy Orton will return to WWE against the recommendation of physicians.
The former world champion debuted in the ring in 2000 and has been
wrestling for almost 20 years. While Orton has had a long and successful
wrestling career, he has also done significant damage to his body with
maneuvers like the RKO.
The Viper’s body has now begun to feel the effects of this wear and tear. This is
why he had to take a break from wrestling in May of last year and has been out
of the ring for over a year.
Dave Meltzer, who earlier stated that WWE was planning to bring Randy
Orton back for Survivor Series, recently released an update on him. Doctors
have told Orton to retire, but he wants to wrestle until he is 50, according to
the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:
“When we asked about Orton’s return at Survivor Series, we were told that is
the suggested time frame, so probably about a month.” His doctor advised him
to retire due to back problems, but Orton makes a lot of money and wants to
play until he’s 50 if at all feasible.”
