Done Deal: Ex-NBA Player Explains Kyle Lowry’s Reason for Signing with the 76ers

Ex-NBA Player Explains Kyle Lowry’s Reason for Signing with the 76ers

Kyle Lowry has made a lot of moves over the last few weeks.

The 37-year-old guard was traded from the Miami Heat to the Charlotte Hornets recently, although it was assumed that Charlotte was going to buy him out so he could join another team.

Sure enough, he signed a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers over the weekend.

On Monday’s “Run It Back,” former NBA player Lou Williams revealed that he recently talked to Lowry about the move.

“I spoke with Kyle yesterday about it. He was really excited to be returning home,” Williams said.

“I spoke with Kyle yesterday about it. He was really excited to be returning home,” Williams said.

“He had an opportunity to go to a couple different teams, he just felt like this was the best fit for him,” he added.

Lowry is a six-time All-Star who was attracted to the idea of playing in his hometown of Philadelphia.

But he was also excited by the prospect of being a ball handler for such a competitive team that will most likely have a place in the postseason this year.

Lowry spent the last few seasons playing for the Heat but his time there never really worked out as he had hoped.

He produced 11.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists during that time, which were weaker numbers than the Heat and its fans wanted after his many years with the Toronto Raptors.

Lowry is hoping that he can prove himself again with the 76ers.

There are many questions about Lowry especially because of his age.

Some people feel that his best days are behind him and he doesn’t have much to bring to the team.

But the Sixers could certainly use his basketball IQ and experience and envision him as the sort of facilitator who could help other players on the roster quite a bit.

Both the 76ers and Lowry have a lot to prove this year; will they be able to prove it together?
