Golden State Warriors to Partner in Trade for a Star Guard…..

NBA Trade News: Golden State Warriors to Partner in Trade for a Star Guard

The Chicago Bulls are still searching for a trade partner for star guard Zach LaVine, and according to a recent report by Sam Amico of Hoops Wire, the Golden State Warriors may be a potential landing spot.

Could LaVine be headed to the Bay Area?

LaVine has been a standout player for the Bulls since arriving in Chicago seven years ago. He’s averaged nearly 25 points per game in the past three seasons and was named an All-Star twice in his stint with the Bulls. However, despite his impressive individual stats, the Bulls have struggled to find team success, leading to rumors of a possible trade.

While the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers have figured prominently in trade rumors, Amico mentioned the Warriors as a “possible dark horse” to land the high-flyer.

Intriguing trade scenario

This trade idea is intriguing, as the Warriors have a young prospect the Bulls would want to add to their roster in Jonathan Kuminga. The young forward reportedly expressed his displeasure with the Warriors’ lack of playing time, and a change of scenery could benefit both Kuminga and LaVine.

The seventh overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, the 21-year-old possesses tantalizing skills, nuclear athleticism, and the potential to develop into a star in the future. This season, he’s averaging a career-high 12.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in only 22 minutes of action. However, Warriors coach Steve Kerr’s tendency to yank him in and out of the rotation has frustrated him.

Steve Kerr Requests Draymond Green To Leave Referees Alone

Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors are asking Draymond Green to leave the referees alone. This is in connection to Green’s outbursts that have landed him multiple technicals in the last month.

Steve Kerr Is Wondering If Draymond Green Can Still Show The Same Energy

The head coach talks about his thoughts during a postgame press conference video by Anthony Slater. He’s wondering if Green can still show the energy he used to give the team. However, there’s a caveat to their forward’s explosive plays—a lot of energy means a lot of emotions. In response, Kerr hopes the 33-year-old can still do his role without bothering the officials.

He talks about how the Warriors ask him to bring the fire without the flak. Of course, it’s a difficult task, especially being the enforcer that Green is.

Ultimately, it’ll be a massive challenge for the team and the forward.

“Can he walk that line? Can he still play with fire and energy but leave the officials alone? That’s the challenge, it’s gonna be a big challenge. We’re gonna ask him to do that.”

Steve KerrKerr admits the Warriors need his energy right now, especially with how underwhelmingly they’ve been playing. This rocky season might still be salvaged due to team chemistry and relying on the core members knowing what to do when they’re not missing players.

“We need that so that we can focus on the game. His teammates need that so that we can focus on all the little details that are eluding us right now—they’re keeping us from being a consistent team.”

The Warriors’ last game against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 7, 2024, ended in an embarrassing double-digit win for the latter.

Stephen Curry‘s been struggling recently, and this game wasn’t an exception. He missed all nine three-point attempts, only making two field goals out of 14 overall.

Meanwhile, Klay Thompson’s extension is shaky due to his recent disappointing performance. Lastly, multiple young players expressed disdain for Kerr and his decisions to sit them out of games.

Do you think the Warriors can bounce back?
