A San Francisco 49ers legend has a clear message for the defense ahead of Super Bowl…..
Jerry Rice is a respected figure among San Francisco 49ers fans for his incredible playing career and loyalty to the organization. Whenever he speaks up on anything that has to do with 49ers football, fans usually stop and listen.
His most recent message to his old team is an obvious one for the Faithful who watched the Kansas City Chiefs claw their way to a back-to-back Super Bowl appearance. However, his warning only emphasizes the biggest threats that the team will face ahead of their February 11 kick-off at Allegiant Stadium.

NFL Insider Forgets It’s the San Francisco 49ers Playing in Super Bowl 58, Goes Viral for Epic Fail
Adam Schefter of ESPN is one of the most reputable reporters in the NFL. He has more than 10.7 million followers on X (formerly Twitter) waiting for his daily updates on the latest happenings in the league. On Sunday, however, his post went viral for rather hilarious reasons.
As he tweeted the arrival of the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas for Super Bowl 58, Schefter forgot one of the teams playing in the contest.
Now, it’s important to put some context here. It’s not like Adam Schefter is dreaming to see the Commanders play in the Super Bowl. It’s also in no way a disrespect to the 49ers. Every person in the planet, once in a while, has a brain-fart moment. And this is the same for Schefter no matter how good he is at his work. Silly mistakes like that happen.
Now, going back to the Commanders mistake, it’s worth noting that the post Schefter made prior to the Super Bowl 58 announcement is about new Washington head coach Dan Quinn landing in the nation’s capital and GM Adam Peters welcoming him.
As a result, several fans couldn’t help but poke fun at Adam Schefter for the rather hilarious gaffe. While some can’t help but feel bad for the San Francisco 49ers for being snubbed, others couldn’t help but drag the Commanders and jokingly support the team.
“Hang the banner Commanders,” a commenter wrote along with a laughing emoji. Another one said, “We all saw the original Adam.”
A third follower joked, “We saw you try and correct the script. The Commanders were supposed to go all along…”
Another fan said, “You’re telling me I can’t watch Sam Howell get sacked 12 times in the Super Bowl?”
Unfortunately for Schefter, that post will likely get brought up in the years to come. Perhaps if the Chiefs end up playing the Commanders in the future, fans will also remember the said message.
As for the 49ers, they can still laugh at the blunder. After all, with Brock Purdy and Co. the favorites to win the Super Bowl, they don’t have much to worry about.
