The Green Bay Packers have agreed to a 21-year RB contract
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went from third in the division to first in the NFC South in a couple of weeks, with a strong chance of hosting a Wild Card playoff game. Both the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints have 6-7 records, but the Bucs have the tiebreaker over both.
The Green Bay Packers are up next, coming off a 24-22 shock loss to the New York Giants. According to Fox Sports, the Packers are 3.5-point favorites going into the game.
Rachaad White has recently revived the running game. White carried for 102 yards and two scores on 25 attempts against the Falcons. The Arizona State rushing back is making a name for himself, having surpassed 80 yards in each of his last three games.
Green Bay’s running defense has been tested this season, as opponents have averaged 141.8 yards per game, ranking second-to-last in the NFL. Undrafted quarterback Tommy Devito carried for 71 yards against the Giants, while Saquon Barkley rushed for 86 yards and two scores. It should be noted that the Packers were missing their leading tackler, Quay Walker.
White has a chance to have a big day against the Packers’ weak run defense.
This season, quarterback Baker Mayfield has had no trouble connecting with outstanding receiver Mike Evans. The Buccaneers surprised the Falcons by having Mayfield hit seven different targets during the Week 14 game. Chris Godwin led the team in receiving yards with 53 yards on five catches, while White finished second with 33 yards on two catches.
Tight end Cade Otton got involved in the offense, recording the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard pass from Mayfield. With a plethora of targets involved, as well as an effective running game, the Buccaneers were a far less predictable offense.
Packers’ skill players have taken a beating, with AJ Dillon, Christian Watson, and Aaron Jones listed as questionable in addition to tight end Luke Musgrave on injured reserve. While Jones was able to practice on Thursday, head coach Matt LaFleur has less confidence regarding Dillon and Watson’s availability on Sunday.
The Buccaneers’ defense has been on a hot streak, and if the Packers are without their leading rushers and a top-three receiver, the streak could continue.

Packers’ Aaron Jones feeling ‘confident’ for Sunday’s game vs. Buccaneers
The Green Bay Packers are in the chase for a postseason spot as they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15. Aaron Jones has been out for several weeks due to an injury. However, it appears that the star running back may be making a comeback.
According to team writer Wes Hodkieqicz, Jones reports he feels a lot better after participating in practice. The running back for the Green Bay Packers is handling his injuries one day at a time.
“I’m feeling a lot better. Got to move around today at practice and making great strides. I’m going to take it day-by-day but I feel confident for Sunday.”
With a playoff spot in sight, Green Bay would love to have Aaron Jones back in the lineup. He’s been a superstar for this team for several years. Additionally, he’d be a great complimentary piece for Jordan Love. So, this is nothing but great news for the Packers.
Jones has only played seven games this season. In those games, he’s totaled 245 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also recorded 169 yards through the air and caught one receiving touchdown. Having Jones return could be huge for the Packers right now. But the coaching staff will continue to monitor him leading up to the game.
If he does return, Aaron Jones will likely take over as starting quarterback. AJ Dillon would be the team’s immediate backup. However, the prospect of Jones in the backfield is appealing to a youthful club. Especially since he’d be an extra receiver for Love.
That being said, stay tuned for any official updates on the star running back. On Sunday, the Packers will face the Buccaneers at 1 p.m. Eastern.
