The Green Bay Packers’ victory over the Dallas Cowboys annihilates previous season’s viewership figures
NFL TV ratings from Wild Card Weekend will be slowly coming out over the next few days, but we know that the Green Bay Packers 48-32 win over the Dallas Cowboys had viewership numbers that blew away the best numbers from last season.
Fox announced that the game got 40 million viewers, which beat the 33.21 million that the New York Giants vs. Minnesota Vikings game pulled in last season.
The most-watched Wild Card weekend game, Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys, drew 42.320 million on Fox in 2015.
Sunday’s Packers/Cowboys game peaked at 43.3, according to Fox, but 40 was the average number of viewers.

We have come to expect the unexpected in the NFL playoffs, but not many would have expected the level of defeat the Dallas Cowboys suffered against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round. Dallas lost 48-32 to the visiting Packers in a game where the hosts trailed by 32 points in the fourth quarter.
It has now been nearly three decades since the Cowboys have reached the NFC Championship game and the franchise is 5-13 in playoff contests during that stretch. Dallas fans are calling for the franchise to replace head coach Mike McCarthy and to move on from starting quarterback Dak Prescott.
