Red Sox lineup: Outfielder returns, Enmanuel Valdez batting second
BOSTON — The Red Sox activated Tyler O’Neill (right knee inflammation) from the 10-day injured list Wednesday. He will play right field and bat fifth against the Braves.
“He’s been itching to play,” manager Alex Cora said about O’Neill. “He’s ready to go and we need this bat.”
Boston and Atlanta will meet here at Fenway Park at 1:35 p.m. It’s the final game of a quick two-game series. The Braves won 8-3 on Tuesday.
Enmanuel Valdez will bat second. Rob Refsnyder will serve as the DH and bat third.
Manager Alex Cora said the plan is to flip-flop O’Neill and Refsnyder at DH and outfield every other game.
