“I’ll be back shortly.” Forest of Nottingham The 24-year-old claims he’s almost healed enough to make a comeback
Nottingham Forest defender Nuno Tavares has delivered an update on his latest injury setback. The player has been out of action since a 2-0 win over West Ham in February.
Now, the player has been speaking to the Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticias. Harry Toffolo has stepped in for Tavares in his absence – and Tavares has missed the last three Premier League fixtures.
With Forest losing all three of the games that the 24-year-old has missed, it’s clear that he’s been missed.
Nuno Tavares delivers update on Nottingham Forest return
Well, it would appear as though the talented left-back isn’t going to be out of action too long. His injury isn’t thought to be too serious and this update is most welcomed.
Tavares has been speaking following his injury and it would appear that he will be back in no time at all to aid the Forest cause.
He told Jornal de Noticias: “I didn’t do my pre-season training, and that’s why I suffered that first injury. Now, I was fine and I got injured again. Obviously, I’m sad not to be doing what I love, but I’ll be back soon.”
Tavares had to wait potentially to get a chance at Forest. Steve Cooper signed the player on loan from Arsenal but then didn’t really give him a regular run of games.
Forest need defender back quickly
With Forest seriously struggling for form, Tavares is needed back as quickly as possible. The Reds have struggled without the attacking intent of the left-back and that attribute is sorely missed.
Tavares has taken some time to settle at Forest. Now, however, fans are starting to see exactly what the team misses out on when he doesn’t play.
It’s great to hear that the player isn’t too far away from returning. Tavares can be vital for Forest before the season is out and hopefully he can return after the international break.
