In an interview, Raiders player Maxx Crosby discusses Taylor Swift’s influence on the NFL and says he ‘doesn’t like seeing’ too much coverage of the singer
Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby has admitted his frustration with excessive coverage of Taylor Swift in the NFL, despite acknowledging why it makes sense from a business standpoint.
Swift proved a major talking point every time she attended one of boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s Kansas City Chiefs games in the 2024 season, including at Sunday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
Many die-hard football fans have grown tired of the hype surrounding the pop superstar, who is often captured watching on from the stands during broadcasts of Chiefs games.
And Crosby, the Raiders’ star defensive end, admits he is one of those fans despite stressing that he fully understands the logic behind Swift’s attention.
‘I mean, they push it hard,’ he said on YouTuber Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk podcast. ‘Especially in the beginning of the year, that’s all they talked about.
‘I mean, it is Taylor Swift, and it’s the Super Bowl champs… so it’s like, what else are they gonna talk about? They’re trying to get the views, it’s a business at the end of the day. So I’m not surprised by it.
‘But as a football guy, I don’t like seeing [when] all they talk about is Taylor Swift. I’m like bro, I wanna watch the football game.
‘But it’s no disrespect to her.’
Martyn then went on to ask Crosby if he had seen any of the graphic AI images depicting Swift which have circulated on social media in recent months.
Dailymail.com revealed at the end of January that the singer and songwriter was left furious about the images – which showed her in a series of sexual acts while dressed in Chiefs memorabilia – and was even considering legal action.
One of the deepfake images in question portrayed Swift sharing a kiss with Kansas City head coach Andy Reid, which Crosby said left him ‘crying tears’.
‘The Andy Reid one f****ng had me crying tears bro, actual tears,’ he admitted. ‘I’m like bro, what the f**k.’
Swift flew 5,500 miles across the globe from Tokyo to Vegas to watch Kelce and the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, attending the game with celebrity pals including Blake Lively and Ice Spice.
The music megastar allegedly had Kanye West removed from Allegiant Stadium after he tried to upstage her on Sunday night, former NFL star Brandon Marshall has sensationally claimed.
Swift is said to have ‘made a call’ to have Kanye booted out after he intentionally bought seats at Las Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium that were in front hers.
Marshall – a retired NFL wide receiver – suggested Kanye, 46, tried to strategically place himself in front of Taylor in her suite to photobomb any footage of her during the game’s broadcast.
