Is Jamal Murray of the Nuggets set to face the Clippers? The most recent occurrence report
Jamal Murray has missed the Nuggets’ last two games after returning from a hamstring ailment that sidelined him for 11 games.
The Denver Nuggets hold the third-best record in the Western Conference, sitting at 14-7 heading into Wednesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Nuggets have done this despite not having Jamal Murray’s services for the bulk of the season, and now there is a growing cloud over Denver as they don’t have a definite answer to the issue of Is Jamal Murray playing tonight vs. the Clippers?
Jamal Murray’s injury status vs. the Clippers
Jamal Murray made his Nuggets debut on November 29 against the Houston Rockets after missing 11 of the team’s first 18 games due to a hamstring injury. Murray, on the other hand, went on to miss the Nuggets’ following two games due to an ankle ailment. Due to a right ankle injury, the 26-year-old point guard is now listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Clippers.
Six full days have passed since Murray sustained the injury to his ankle, so there may be a strong chance that he returns against the Clippers. After all, Murray also went through a partial practice on Tuesday, so his playing status depends on how his ankle responds in warm-ups.
Due to how early it is in the season, there’s no reason for the Nuggets to rush Jamal Murray back from a lower-body injury. This is especially the case when the Nuggets have managed not just to remain afloat, but also thrive despite Murray’s absence. As one would recall, in the Nuggets’ most recent matchup against the Clippers, they were able to pull out the win despite not having Nikola Jokic and Aaron Gordon in addition to Murray.
If Murray is unable to return to the hardwood on Wednesday, expect Reggie Jackson to start in his place once again. Jackson was a thorn in the Clippers’ side during their matchup on November 27, dropping 35 points and 13 assists in that game.
Jackson is a very capable placeholder with the starters, so the Nuggets remain in good hands even though the answer to the question of Is Jamal Murray playing tonight vs. the Clippers remains maybe.
