
Signing of Joe Jimenez, Silver Slugger Award finalists, and more Braves news
On the first official day of the offseason, the Atlanta Braves signed Joe Jiménez to a three-year, $26 million contract. The 28-year-old will earn $8 million in 2024, rising to $9 million in 2025 and 2026. The Atlanta Braves Foundation will receive 1% of his pay.
The reliever spent the 2023 season in Atlanta after wrapping up with the Detroit Tigers. Over the 2023 campaign, he tossed 56.1 innings, struck out 73 and walked 14. He managed a 3.04 ERA.
Thursday morning’s signing came quickly after Pierce Johnson’s contract, which was done Wednesday.
The Braves have six finalists for the Silver Slugger Award in Matt Olson, Ronald Acuña Jr., Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley, Sean Murphy, and Marcell Ozuna.
