In a wild trade proposal with the Chicago Bears, the Las Vegas Raiders acquire…..
The Las Vegas Raiders’ quarterback situation has yet to be resolved. They have Aidan O’Connell who played a number of games for them after Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury, but it has yet to be seen if head coach Antonio Pierce will stick with him or look elsewhere.
Interestingly, there could be an interesting option for them in the form of Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
Chicago Bears-Las Vegas Raiders Trade Idea for Justin Fields
The Bears have the no. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and are widely projected to take a quarterback with the selection. With that being said, they could move on from Fields and instead build around the new QB–potentially USC Trojans star Caleb Williams.
Fields is now a prime trade candidate as a result, and the Raiders could pounce in on the opportunity.
As ESPN recently noted in a report, Fields to the Raiders make a ton of sense. Here’s what the publication wrote:
It’s understandable why the Bears would want to move on from Fields. In his three years with the team since arriving as the no. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Chicago didn’t have much success. They were never able to come close to competing for a postseason spot, so a change is needed.
As for Fields, he still has plenty of upside. Nonetheless, he could definitely benefit from a new situation. And a supportive organization like the Raiders could exactly be what he needs as he looks to change the narrative of his career.
Making the trade proposal more intriguing now is the fact that the Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly bringing Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy to be their OC under Antonio Pierce.
Bringing in a familiar face for Getsy in a new situation should make it easier for Fields to adjust.
Throughout his three-year NFL career so far, Fields has tallied 6674 passing yards and 40 touchdowns on 61.4 percent pass completion. He also has 2220 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground as he established himself as one of the best dual-threat QBs in the league.
With the Raiders, Fields will have some continuity while also getting a fresh start.
It remains to be seen if a deal for Fields between the Raiders and Bears will happen, but it’s certainly something worth keeping an eye on.
