Just-now: Klay Thompson Opens Up About The Warriors’ Tough Season
The Golden State Warriors were viewed as one of the best teams in the league before the start of the 2023-24 NBA season.
However, with more than half of the season already being played, the Warriors are playing like shells of themselves this year.
The Warriors continued their struggles during their most recent game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Thanks to the brilliant performance of Stephen Curry, the game went until double-overtime, but the Warriors still ended up suffering a 144-145 defeat at the hands of the Lakers.
Following the disappointing loss, Warriors veteran Klay Thompson shared his views on the team’s tough season via Warriors on NBCS.
“Lot of games have stung this year. We’ve had a lot of heartbreaking losses,” Thompson said.
Klay Thompson didn’t mince his words about the Warriors’ underwhelming season and claimed several losses have stung the team this season.
At the end of the day, Thompson may feel sad about suffering another loss, but he was one of the contributors to the team’s Saturday night defeat against the Lakers.
Thompson did have 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in 47 minutes of playing time, but he continued to struggle from the floor.
The 5x NBA All-Star shot 9-24 from the field, including a 6-17 performance from the three-point line.
Keeping Thompson’s poor shooting night in mind, it’s no surprise that the Lakers were able to register a one-point win over the 2022 NBA champions.
The Warriors have slipped to a 19-24 record this season as they continue to stay as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.
With each defeat, the Warriors’ hopes of making a comeback this season are getting less likely.

Watch: ‘He is done with this team’ – Stephen Curry RIPS Warriors jersey after 46-point show out goes in vain against Lakers
Stephen Curry is going through a lot this season. Tonight, he posted his highest points in a game this season. But it was not enough for his Golden State Warriors to get the win. He showed his emotions after the game, as basketball fans responded with empathy.
The game against the Los Angeles Lakers was dubbed a must-watch in the ‘Rivalry Week’. The game featuring the league’s two best superstars going head-to-head was the highlight of the day. Curry and LeBron James did not disappoint. But how the game ended, did not bring out the best of emotions from Curry.
Losing by one point and that too due to free throws, proved too much for Curry to handle. While walking towards the tunnel, Curry was seen ripping his jersey while letting out a scream.
Anyone who puts up such a performance and then loses the game by the slimmest of margins is bound to be hurt. Curry took the Warriors to double overtime, which showed his unwillingness to lose the game. But still, it was not enough as the Warriors lost to the Lakers 144-145.
Curry posted a season-high 46 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists to lead the Warriors. Draymond Green combined with Curry on a pick-and-roll setup to get Curry off his defender in the final 10 seconds of the second overtime period. Curry shot the go-ahead three-pointer with the screen from Green. The clock had 4.7 seconds left. Curry thought he had it. But it was not to be.
Basketball fans feel for Curry after latest loss
Stephen Curry has been carrying the load for the Warriors throughout the season. Everything has been placed on his shoulders. Be it with teammates’ injuries, suspensions, or reduction in production, Curry has seen it all. But despite all that, he has tried to win every game he has played.
The Warriors lost by 1 point against the Sacramento Kings a couple of nights ago. To lose again by 1 point despite a season-high performance was too much for Curry. Basketball fans seemingly knew exactly how Curry was feeling. They reacted to the jersey-ripping video with these comments:
The Warriors have to find a way to win close games. Curry is putting it all on the line. It is time he gets the reward for all his efforts.
