Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has confirmed that this season will be his last with the team, opening the door to speculation about his future and potential new destinations.

A pair of roster moves on this Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings made a couple of roster moves, swapping out a veteran cornerback for a veteran defensive lineman.

The team has announced that they have re-signed defensive lineman James Lynch. In order to make room for him on the 90-man roster, the team released cornerback JoeJuan Williams.

Lynch was a fourth-round pick of the Vikings in the 2020 NFL Draft after a successful career at Baylor. He appeared in 37 games for the Vikings from 2020 to 2022 but suffered a torn ACL during Training Camp last season, with the team placing him on injured reserve and ending his 2023 season. In his career with the Vikings, he has registered 53 combined tackles, two quarterback sacks, and a fumble recovery.

Williams was signed by the Vikings as a free agent last offseason after starting his career with the New England Patriots. After beginning Training Camp with the starters on defense, Williams wound up being released by the team and re-signing to the practice squad. He then wound up with the Chicago Bears for a few weeks after Chicago signed him off of the practice squad, but was released by the Bears in late October and wound up finding his way back to Minnesota.
