LeBron James Praises Jaylen Brown After Winning Eastern Conference Finals MVP

Jaylen Brown dominated in the Boston Celtics’ four-game sweep win over the Indiana Pacers to make the 2024 NBA Finals. LeBron James recognized Brown for his sensational performances, shouting him out on social media.

“Keep going, Young (King)! Respect!”

The Celtics beat the Pacers 105-102 in Game 4 to complete the sweep. The Celtics overcame late fourth-quarter deficits in three different games this series, making many Pacers fans wonder what could have been if they stole one of those games. Brown led them in scoring in Game 4 as he scored 29 points to put the cherry on top of an excellent series.

Brown averaged 29.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists over the four games of this series, winning the Conference Finals MVP award by beating teammate Jayson Tatum 5-4 in award voting. Tatum led the Celtics in scoring, averaging 30.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game.

LeBron James never competed in the East to win one of these Conference Finals MVP trophies but would likely have nine in his collection for all the times he carried his teams to the NBA Finals. Praise from him will be valued highly by Brown, even though LeBron has a well-known distaste for the Celtics.

Jaylen Brown has been excellent for the duration of the Celtics’ postseason run, averaging 25.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists as the team went 12-2 over the Eastern Conference.

Jaylen Brown And Jayson Tatum React To Conference Finals MVP

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have built a wonderful partnership since Tatum joined the Celtics in 2017. Even though Tatum usually gets the plaudits such as All-NBA First Team appearances and even the 2022 Conference Finals MVP award, Brown finally won something of his own. By his own admission, he did not expect this.

“I wasn’t expecting it at all. I never win sh*t. I was just happy we won. Give credit to Indiana, they played tough. I know people think Indiana isn’t a good team but they were tougher than anybody we played this season. They were physical, they played fast, they put a lot of pressure on us. Shout out to them and respect to them.”

Tatum was as supportive as he could be when asked about Brown winning the trophy, showing that the two teammates are happy to see each other succeed individually if the team is winning.
