Manchester City will be busy preparing for their return to Premier League action this week.

City faced Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at the weekend and claimed a 1-0 win to secure their place in next month’s final. Bernardo Silva scored the winning goal for City to maintain the club’s ambition of winning a Premier League-FA Cup double this term

Now attention for Pep Guardiola’s side will turn to the top flight once again, with Brighton their opponents this week. City will travel to the Amex Stadium on Thursday night in the first of their six remaining Premier League fixtures this season.

City are still battling with Arsenal and Liverpool for the league title and will be looking to secure another three points this week. However, Guardiola may be forced to select his starting line-up and matchday squad without some key players being available due to injury.

MEN Sport has provided a round-up of City’s current injury list ahead of the Premier League clash against Brighton.

Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland suffered a muscle injury that forced him to miss the FA Cup semi-final win over Chelsea on Saturday.

Haaland featured in the Champions League defeat to Real Madrid last Wednesday, before being substituted in the final minutes of regulation time. The striker was not fit enough to be part of the matchday squad for the trip to Wembley at the weekend and is now a doubt going forward.

Guardiola confirmed before kick-off against Chelsea that Haaland was sidelined with an injury.

“He’s [Haaland] injured,” Guardiola told BBC Sport on Saturday. “I don’t think it’s much but he’s not able for today,” Guardiola said. “I don’t know [if he will be back for the next game].”

Potential return date: Unknown

John Stones

John Stones is also fitness doubt for City heading into the midweek clash against Brighton

Stones was substituted at half-time against Chelsea on Saturday, where he was replaced by Ruben Dias. No update has emerged on whether or not Guardiola decided to replace Stones due to an injury concern or for tactical reasons.

As a result, it remains to be seen if Stones will be fit to feature against Brighton on Thursday. Guardiola is likely to provide an update on Stones’ fitness when he speaks to the media this week.

Potential return date: Unknown
