NBA Update: Potential 76ers Trade Target Expected to Stay Put, As the Trade Deadline Approaches…..
As the trade deadline approaches, several players are popping up as potential targets for the Philadelphia 76ers. In recent weeks, Atlanta Hawks sharpshooter Bogdan Bogdanovic has often been described as an ideal fit for Philadelphia if his current organization makes him available.
Bogdanovic is no stranger to the trade rumor game. Dating back to last season, the Serbian guard has been mentioned as a potential target for teams on the hunt for a reliable deep threat.
Will the Hawks actually deal away the 31-year-old guard, though? One NBA Insider pushes back on that notion as the deadline creeps closer.
“One player with a sizable contract going forward the Hawks seemingly want to keep past the trade deadline is Bogdan Bogdanovic, according to rival executives and league sources,” wrote HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
Bogdanovic-to-Philly hasn’t been a rumor that’s gained any steam. It’s tough to imagine the Sixers wouldn’t do their due diligence on the veteran, as they typically check in on the trade market’s most notable players no matter what.
But Atlanta doesn’t seem eager to move Bogdanovic. Instead, all of the attention will remain on Atlanta’s veteran guard, Dejounte Murray.
Over the past month, Murray has joined Chicago’s Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan as All-Star trade candidates. The Sixers, unsurprisingly, were linked to Murray, but it was very clear from the beginning that their interest in the Hawks’ guard wasn’t high.
Being in the Eastern Conference’s tenth seed with a 20-27 record, the Hawks look like a squad that should consider selling at the deadline and hitting a soft reset around Trae Young. Moving Bogdanovic and Murray would be two key moves if that were the plan, but it seems the former player will at least stay put in Atlanta.
