NBA rumors: Pacers ‘keeping tabs’ on Warriors’ Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga trade

The Indiana Pacers are amid a promising 2023-24 season. The Pacers have a record of 22-15 and sit fourth in the Eastern Conference. Still, Indiana wants to improve its roster. The team is eyeing the trade market for Warriors forwards Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

The Pacers are big suitors for the Warriors forwards

Indiana’s impressive start to the season has been largely led by a breakout from Tyrese Haliburton. However, the team could still use an upgrade, particularly at the power forward position.

Senior NBA Reporter Jake Fischer joined a trade talk podcast to inform listeners of the Pacers’ potential interest in what Golden State has to offer. He hears that Andrew Wiggins intrigues Indiana, per The Trade Deadline. In addition, Jonathan Kuminga is a player the Pacers are keeping tabs on.

Wiggins is amid a down season after he missed time from the Warriors during the spring of 2023. His hiatus seems to have caused him to lose a step. He averages six fewer points per game than he has in his last two seasons.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Kuminga reportedly grew disgruntled with his role on the Warriors amid Draymond Green’s suspension. The 21-year-old is averaging a career-high 12.8 points per game.

Each of the aforementioned Golden State stars would bolster Indiana at the forward spot. If the Warriors decide to move on from either star at the NBA trade deadline, it would bode well for the Pacers. The question that remains is, what would the Pacers be willing to give up to land the stars?

Former Stephen Curry Warriors teammate accused of shoplifting

Former Golden State Warriors and Washington Wizards guard Ryan Rollins, who was waived by the Wizards Monday night, is accused of repeatedly shoplifting from a Target store, according to Josh Robbins of The Athletic:

“Former Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors guard Ryan Rollins has been accused of shoplifting, with incidents alleged to have occurred from mid-September to mid-November in Alexandria, Va. ”

Police said in court documents that Rollins stole small household items such as groceries, body wash and candles from a Target store on seven different occasions from Sept. 9 to Nov. 9, when he was on the Wizards’ roster. He was charged with seven counts of petit larceny, and the items alleged to have been stolen in each incident were valued at less than $1,000.

The Wizards waived Rollins on Monday night after he appeared in 10 regular-season games. The 21-year-old averaged 4.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 10 games with Washington

The reserve guard came to the Wizards as part of a trade package over the summer, with Washington trading Chris Paul to the Warriors and receiving Jordan Poole, Rollins, Patrick Baldwin Jr., a 2027 second-round pick and a top-20 protected 2030 first-round pick.

The Warriors selected Rollins with the No. 44 pick of last year’s draft, sending a second-round pick and $2 million in cash to the Atlanta Hawks for the chance to move up and grab him.
