Miami Heat unveil new starting lineup ahead of In-Season Tournament game vs Washington Wizards
On Friday, the Miami Heat will face Jordan Poole and the Washington Wizards in their inaugural In-Season Tournament game.
The Heat have announced their starting lineup for the game, which includes Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro, Haywood Highsmith, Jimmy Butler, and Bam Adebayo.
The Heat have had a terrible start to the season as a whole, especially for a team coming off a trip to the NBA Finals. Miami now has the poorest record in the Eastern Conference with a 1-4 record.
The team’s four losses this season have come against the Boston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Milwaukee Bucks, and Brooklyn Nets.
The Heat’s most humiliating loss of the season thus far was against the Nets on November 1. Miami led Brooklyn by eight points entering the fourth and final quarter, but fell 109-105 after being outscored 34-22 in the final period.
Herro’s play has been one of the few bright spots for a Heat club that has struggled out of the gate. In five games, the 23-year-old guard is averaging 26.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from behind the 3-point line.
On Oct. 30, Herro had his best game of the season against the Bucks. In 42 minutes of action, he ended with 35 points, eight rebounds, and three assists. He also made 12 of his 21 field-goal attempts, including two of his five attempts from beyond the arc.
The Heat have a talent advantage over the Wizards, who have a virtually identical 1-3 record to Miami, and should be able to grab their second win of the season on Friday. Heat supporters should be anticipating the team’s performance in its first In-Season Tournament game of the season.
