Newcastle make Fikayo Tomori move as AC Milan name their price – The Guardian
According to The Guardian, Newcastle United have approached AC Milan over a potential deal for Fikayo Tomori.
The former Chelsea centre-back has been linked with a possible move to Tyneside via the Italian press this month and the story has now been picked up closer to home, with Ed Aarons reporting that we’ve made contact with the Serie A giants.
He claims that Milan are currently demanding a fee ‘in excess of £40m’ for the 26-year-old, saying it’s currently unclear if the two clubs will reach a compromise.
Tomori ticks several boxes for Eddie Howe as a right-footed centre-back who’d add some much-needed pace and athleticism to our back four. He has Premier League experience from his stint at Stamford Bridge, has played over 100 games in English football and has been a regular in AC Milan’s back line over the past few seasons, representing the Italian side in the Champions League and Europa League, also helping them to a league title in 2022.
It’s worth noting that Tomori has often played as a left-sided centre-back during his time at the San Siro, but he’s right-footed and seemingly capable of playing on both sides.
