Boston is expected to be announced as one of the two host cities, along with Montreal, for the NHL 4 National Face-Off tournament that will be held in February 2025.

According to the Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli, an announcement is expected soon. He tweeted:

TD Garden would obviously be the game venue, but the Bruins practice facility at Warrior Arena as well as the college rinks around the city could be utilized for practice.

The event will feature Olympic-caliber rosters from the United States, Canada, Sweden and Finland. According to NHL.com:

“The in-season 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off will consist of a total of seven games played during a nine-day period from Feb. 12-20, along with two practice days, Feb. 10-11, and will be held in two yet-to-be named North American cities, one in Canada and one in the United States.”

Several Bruins including Brad Marchand, Jeremy Swayman, Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm and Linus Ullmark are likely participants. David Pastrnak was disappointed earlier this year that Czechia was not included.

The event is a precursor to the NHL returning to the Olympics in 2026.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has been named Team Canada’s general manager for the 4 Nations Faceoff and an assistant G.M. for the Olympics.
