Steven Reid and Philip Zinckernagel react as Nottingham Forest promotion winner makes controversial transfer
Nottingham Forest promotion-winner Max Lowe has received messages of congratulations from Steven Reid and Philip Zinckernagel after joining a new club.
Lowe has risked the wrath of the Sheffield United faithful by penning a deal with steel-city rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
The defender who helped Forest reach the Premier League was a free agent after his Bramall Lane contract expired.
Now, he will be hoping to help Danny Rohl’s men enjoy a successful season after surviving in the Championship last season.
Lowe will always be remembered for his efforts in a Forest shirt and he will go down as part of the class of 2021/22 that will sit forever more in the history books.
After joining a new club, Lowe took to Instagram and some players with Forest connections wished him well.

He injured the same groin on two occasions and that limited him to just 23 appearances during the promotion-winning campaign.
Lowe made a substitute appearance in the Play-Off Final as Forest beat Huddersfield 1-0 to end 23 years without Premier League football.
He claimed four assists and now some of his former teammates – and a coach have reacted to his latest move.
Reid is still coaching at the City Ground as part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s backroom team and he posted a wordless reaction.
He posted three Praise the Lord emojis after Lowe had reacted to his controversial move on Instagram.
Another loan player during the memorable 2021/22 campaign was Zinckernagel and he also wished Lowe well.
He posted: “Good luck bro.”
Lowe needs to kick on after flashes of promise at Forest
At 27-years-old, Lowe must prove that he can stay fit for an entire campaign and start showcasing his quality.
Arguably, Forest saw more of Lowe than Sheffield United ever did, with the left-back playing just 10 games last season.
Now, Lowe has been given an opportunity to play for another huge football club and it’s one that he must grasp.
Lowe was perhaps a little bit unlucky not to win a permanent deal at the City Ground.
However, Forest were likely sceptical over his injury record and instead opted to sign other left-sided defensive options.
It will be fascinating to see how Lowe gets on with Wednesday and based on these Instagram comments it appears he was popular at Forest.
