The New York Knicks entered Tuesday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks looking to pick up a much-needed victory and that is exactly what they were able to do.
New York had struggled over the past few weeks as they had dropped six of their last 10 games entering Tuesday’s contests.
Despite this, the Knicks used a great start and a dominant third quarter to take down the beat-up Mavericks on Tuesday 128-113.
OG Anunoby led the way for the Knicks as he scored 35 points and grabbed five rebounds in the victory.
Karl-Anthony Towns also had a great game as he recorded a triple-double with 26 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
Josh Hart also came up big in New York’s victory as he also recorded a triple-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists on 6-9 shooting from the field.
For Hart, this was his ninth triple-double of the season which moved him into the top spot in Knicks’ history for the most triple-doubles in a single-season in franchise history.
Of course, Hart entered Tuesday’s game tied with Walt Frazier with eight triple-double in a single season, which Frazier did in 1968-69, and Hart was able to pass him in the record books in New York’s victory over the Mavericks.
Hart has played a key role for the Knicks this season as he has made a major impact on why they currently sit third in the Eastern Conference standings.

New York Knicks guard Josh Hart talks with New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau at Spectrum Center
This season, the 30-year-old guard is averaging 13.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 53.1% from the field and 33.5% from three-point range while playing an NBA-leading 37.7 minutes per game.
Hart has put together one of the best seasons of his career thus far and he and the Knicks will look to extend their winning streak to three games on Wednesday when they host the Los Angeles Clippers.
