Ronnie O’Sullivan’s £14 million fortune! From rowdy binges with rock stars and flashy supercars to a family

Ronnie O’Sullivan has been snooker’s ever-changing personality over the years and with his varied success also comes a change in the spending habits of his vast wealth.

The 48-year-old claimed a record-extending eighth Masters title over the weekend after recovering from 6-3 down to beat Ali Carter 10-7.

He then went on an extraordinary expletive-filled rant against Carter after the match that saw Sullivan claim a £250,000 winners prize pot.

Fame means little to the world No.1 and money has at times been easily expendable for Sullivan who has amassed riches of over £14million during his time in the sport, as reported by The Sun, but his spending has been reined in during recent years.

From the days of partying with Oasis rockstars and buying outrageously fast supercars, the Englishman is now more modest with his spending and even revealed after his recent quarter-final win against Barry Hawkins that he would be celebrating with a curry.

O’Sullivan is now sober but in his younger years would happily spend large sums on boozy binge sessions that would on some occasions span over several days.

Fitness and proper undergarments are now some of his more modest retail investments as O’Sullivan revealed he purchased 15 pairs of running shoe shoelaces in one shopping spree before a tournament last year.

Prior to his World Championship final victory over Judd Trump, O’Sullivan revealed the finer details of his basic shopping trip around Sheffield, explaining: ‘If I had an hour spare – rather than sit in the room, stewing thinking I’ve got two hours to go – just go down to the running shop, buy these sets of laces.

‘I bought loads of pairs. I was just buying them as presents for people. So people that I knew who would appreciate it.

‘Another thing was the underpants. I found these new underpants. I bought a few of these pairs and had run out so I thought I’d better go and get some more,’ he told retired snooker star Alan McManus.

From lavish spends on nights out, O’Sullivan – like many sports stars – has worked his way through a host of cars during his time as a snooker superstar.

His younger days saw him cash-in on the likes of Ferrari’s , Aston Martins, and Porsches, but he now appears much happier with more everyday cars in his garage.

An Audi RS4 Avant and a family saloon car currently adorn his collection and it’s unlikely to get much more luxurious than that after O’Sullivan once described his previous Aston Martin DB8 as ‘a bag of s***’.

A similarly modest approach was taken to his living arrangements throughout his career as well, with O’Sullivan famously a fan of barge boats and the lifestyle living on one brings with it.

Being snooker’s biggest global star brings with it an increase in attention and O’Sullivan previously owned a 60ft canal boat that he lived on before putting up for sale at £129,950.

He also owned a smaller barge in 2007 named Double Kiss that was eventually sold as well.

O’Sullivan now lives in a sprawling Essex mansion and his younger more reckless spending habits appear to have been brought under control.
