San Francisco 49ers fans Clear the Air being Mad after the Super Bowl Fiasco
With the San Francisco 49ers headed to Super Bowl LVIII, fans are already booking their flights and hotel rooms to watch the game at Allegiant Stadium. One of the biggest purchases for these fans is the Super Bowl-branded jersey that they can wear to show the team their support.
However, one clothing company committed a giant blunder about the Niners’ uniforms. Fans are reportedly livid over the mishap that could potentially ruin their Super Bowl experience.
Fanatics might fail to supply San Francisco 49ers fans with Super Bowl jerseys
Fanatics is the clothing company that has a ten-year deal with the NFL as its exclusive manufacturer and distributor of Nike gear. They are widely known throughout various fan circles as providers of subpar merchandise that looks far from the genuine article.
The company’s latest blunder involves the team’s apparent inability to supply a 49ers fanbase that is ready to fly out to Vegas. According to SFGATE’s Gabe Fernandez, there are reports that the jerseys might not even make it in time for the Super Bowl:
As of noon P.T. on Jan. 31, the only Super Bowl-branded jerseys that Niners fans can currently purchase are San Francisco’s red home jerseys. Even if authenticity weren’t an issue, a majority of the jerseys, if ordered today, wouldn’t arrive until some days after the Super Bowl. A Deebo Samuel home jersey with a Super Bowl patch comes with a small message that reads “Special Event Item — Ships by 2/14, so it’s not eligible for Super Bowl delivery, but it’s worth the wait!”
The delays aren’t the only things that got fans riled up. While not every jersey is unavailable, the others are at a level that doesn’t meet consumer expectations:
There are exceptions, but they leave a lot to be desired. The inaccurate Christian McCaffrey Super Bowl home jersey is available to arrive by Feb. 11. This is also the case with two Brock Purdy Super Bowl jerseys, although the options are either a black or gray jersey, neither of which the team has worn at all this year.
Fanatics is already halfway through their deal with the league, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll look to improve their products or services. The league may want to look at the situation before it gets worse.
