San Francisco 49ers Week 15 injury report: Latest on Nick Bosa, Isaac Guerendo, and more for TNF

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Chicago Bears 38-13 last weekend at Levi’s Stadium, putting them back in the winning column for the first time since they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10. That win also meant they are still in the running for an NFC playoff berth.

The Niners will now face the LA Rams in a pivotal NFC West game on Thursday night in an attempt to maintain their hopes of making the postseason.

The San Francisco 49ers have been injury-ridden for most of 2024, but they still have enough quality in both offense and defense to cause problems for any franchise in the league. In light of this, let’s examine which of the team’s players are injured before its crunch Thursday night game.

49ers injury report for Thursday Night Football

Both offensive tackle Trent Williams (ankle) and defensive end Nick Bosa (hip/oblique) did not participate in the San Francisco 49ers’ practice on Monday and Tuesday, raising doubts about their likely availability for the game against the LA Rams.

Rookie RB Isaac Guerendo, who sprained his foot in the Week 14 game against the Chicago Bears, is another noteworthy Niners player who has not practiced this week. Additionally, OL Ben Bartch will be placed on the injured reserve list after suffering an ankle injury on Sunday.

A host of other players were only able to log limited practice participation in the 49ers’ session on Tuesday, including linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles), defensive tackle Khalil Davis (knee), safety Malik Mustapha (chest, shoulder), linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (knee), defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos (knee) and linebacker Dee Winters (ankle).

Isaac Guerendo injury update

Running back Isaac Guerendo sustained a foot injury during the team’s Week 14 win over the Chicago Bears, coach Kyle Shanahan said on Monday. The rookie RB has not yet been declared out of Thursday’s game due to the injury, but he has not practiced this week.

“Over the next few days, we’ll evaluate him (Guerendo) to determine whether he has a chance,” Shanahan said on Monday.

Guerendo rushed 15 times for 78 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears on his first professional start. He also grabbed two receptions for 50 yards in that game.

If Guerendo can’t recover from his injury before Thursday’s matchup, the Niners will have to start Patrick Taylor Jr. at running back, with Christian McCaffrey (knee) and Jordan Mason (ankle) already placed on injured reserve.

Nick Bosa injury update

Defensive end Nick Bosa missed his third straight game due to an oblique and hip ailment on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Since he hasn’t practiced this week, he is also leaning toward missing this week’s contest against the Rams. However, coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed on Monday that the star defender will be assessed before kickoff to see whether he can play on Thursday night.
