Shocking: Finally, New York Giants made a huge announcement on QB Daniel Jones Fate, as Giants $22.9 million reliable starter to confirms to dump New York in favor of….

This bye week for the New York Giants could not be coming at a better time.  Daniel Jones has to be benched as he has played so poorly all season long for the most part outside of a few games.  This is coming from the biggest Daniel Jones believer and supporter arguably in the entire Capital Region.  It is time to move on and go draft a stud in the 2025 NFL draft class at quarterback.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

It’s time for the Giants to bench quarterback Daniel Jones and not only because they can’t afford him to get hurt which would trigger a guaranteed $23 million injury clause in his contract if can’t pass physical in March. The Giants need to bench Jones because he’s not getting the job done after he threw two interceptions in a brutal loss to the lowly Carolina Panthers. Giants are 2-8 and have lost five straight and that’s more than enough to make a change. After the bye week I would expect the Giants to start either Tommy DeVito or Drew Luck at MetLife Stadium against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Giants might win another two to three games at the most as the rest of their season is pretty tough.  The offseason is going to be very intriguing for this Giants organization.  I expect a lot of changes because the Giants are a bad organization and have been a losing football team for the last decade plus.  Changes are coming they just better be the right ones.

It’s a question that’s both simple and impossible to answer: How are the Kansas City Chiefs 9-0?

Despite injuries, inconsistency, and constantly staring down defeat, the Chiefs have managed their best start to a season since 2013, before Patrick Mahomes even enrolled in college. And they’ve done so despite their least formidable group of receivers in at least a decade.

Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown were both lost for the season, prompting the Chiefs to acquire aging legend DeAndre Hopkins at the trade deadline. But with Hopkins set to hit free agency, the Chiefs could look elsewhere for more insurance at wideout this spring.

Enter Darius Slayton, a six-year veteran who has spent his entire career on awful New York Giants teams. Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department recently predicted that Slayton would sign with the Chiefs in free agency.

“Going from Daniel Jones at quarterback to Patrick Mahomes is a move that any wide receiver would dream about. The fact that Darius Slayton has spent the entirety of his six-year career to this point with the Giants would only make the move even sweeter for him. Slayton has become an underrated receiver whose deep speed has carved out a role every year in New York,” the authors said.

“That speed, combined with Xavier Worthy and Andy Reid’s scheming, would become an even bigger asset in Kansas City. DeAndre Hopkins is a nice addition, but he’s still on the wrong side of 30. Slayton would be a younger addition to a receiver crew that lacks depth right now.”

Slayton, 27, has played in 85 games with the Giants, including 60 starts. He has yet to eclipse 800 receiving yards in a single season, but has over 700 in four of his five tries so far. This year, he is at 469 yards through nine games played.

Perhaps Slayton doesn’t have the ceiling to become a true number-one in even the best of situations, but he could be a very valuable number-two option for Mahomes. Worthy’s uneven first year and Rice’s impending legal troubles make finding a stable veteran all the more crucial.
