Breaking: Skip Bayless believes one Cowboys player is ‘very Overrated

The Dallas Cowboys defense has been at the top of the NFL for most of the season this year, but just gave up 31 points to the Buffalo Bills and a disappointing loss

The game soured what was trending toward a big year for Dallas, as the Cowboys were on track to win the NFC East and potentially take the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

The Cowboys remain one of the best teams in the NFL, though, and a lot of that is thanks to the play of edge rusher Micah Parsons.

Parsons has more than 12 sacks in a season for the third consecutive year and is the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year.

However, he only has one sack in three games, and Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless doesn’t think Parson can live up to lofty comparisons to Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor.

“Maybe he’s not big enough, maybe he’s not strong enough, maybe he’s not physical enough,” Bayless said. “Maybe he’s just not bad*** enough. Or maybe he’s just been way overhyped, overrated – starting with me, by me.”

Bayless is known for his spur-of-the-moment replies, and this is undoubtedly one of them.

Parsons hasn’t put up big numbers recently, but he’s still one of the greatest pure pass rushers in the league.

According to ESPN, he ranks first in double teams and still has the most pass rush wins and the highest pass rush victory rate.

Opposing offenses must be aware of him at all times, and he figures into head coaches’ game plans on a weekly basis.

It’s a little early to declare Parsons overhyped, especially given his current productivity and likely DPOY honors.

How to watch Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins – channel, stream, and more

The Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys have looked like contenders and pretenders at various points this season.

Both clubs are 10-4, have offenses and defenses that are near the top of the league, and have dominated inferior opposition, often by wide margins.

However, both have struggled against the league’s strongest clubs.

Three of Miami’s four losses have come against teams with winning records, while all ten of its victories have come against teams with.500 or lower records. The Cowboys’ sole win over a current winning club came two weeks ago in a 33-13 thrashing of the fading Philadelphia Eagles.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said he instructed his players not to concentrate about postseason seeding – Miami now sits second in the AFC and can clinch a spot in the playoffs with a win Sunday – or the “narrative” that they can’t beat good teams.

“Anything other than to concern yourself with the next opponent, which for us is the Dallas Cowboys, any other narrative that has to do with good teams or playoff seeds or the next three games, all that stuff,” McDaniel told reporters on Monday. “I gave them the clearance to tell all members of the media to – with all due respect – ‘F’ off, with all due respect.”

Whether they notice it or not, the Dolphins have a chance to reverse that trend on Sunday at home, where they have won 18 of their last 21 games. Tua Tagovailoa has the second-best winning percentage at home (.792) among active quarterbacks with at least 20 home starts.

On the road, the Cowboys are 3-4. They were defeated 31-10 at Buffalo last week, allowing 266 yards rushing while gaining only 195 yards total.

“You can’t get to where you want to go while being a.500 team on the road,” Dallas coach Mike McCarthy said. “With that record, you’re not going to be playing playoff games at home.” It is unquestionably a priority for us.”

At AT&T Stadium, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is averaging 304 yards passing with two interceptions and a 74% completion rate. He’s averaged 216 yards per game on the road, with five interceptions and a 63% completion rate.

The Cowboys had already won a playoff spot before facing Buffalo, but they still have a chance to win the NFC East and secure the top seed in the conference.

McCarthy stated that his squad will rely on a mix of veterans and young players for the remainder of the season.

“This is why we spend so much time with our younger players,” he added. “Because this is the time of year when young players compete.” And it’s the most crucial time of year since we’re all competing for playoff spots and so on. “I think the most important thing is to stick with it, to be consistent, and to rely on your leadership.”
