The Phoenix Suns hope to end their two-game losing skid when the Denver Nuggets play host on Tuesday night.

The team released the following injury report vs. Denver:

OUT – Devin Booker (ankle sprain), Josh Okogie (lower ab strain), Nassir Little (knee inflammation) and Damion Lee (knee)

QUESTIONABLE – Jusuf Nurkic (right calf tightness)

Earlier, NBA insider Shams Charania reported Booker’s expected to miss the next 7-10 days after spraining his ankle in the late stages of Saturday night’s contest. He missed Sunday’s loss vs. Oklahoma City and now will miss more action moving forward.

“The Suns and Devin Booker are bracing for his right ankle sprain to keep him sidelined for at least the next seven to ten days, sources tell me. Booker suffered the ankle sprain on Saturday and the Suns are 31-19 with him in the lineup this year and just 4-17 without,” Charania said in his report.

“Booker is averaging almost 28 points per game over the last two months of the season and the Suns’ priority is to get healthy and get right down the stretch of the season.”

Phoenix is just 35-26 on the season with 21 games remaining. They have the highest strength of schedule out of any NBA team and are just 2-4 following the All-Star break.

Denver – on the other hand – appears to be finding their form after establishing a six-game winning streak heading into Tuesday. They’re just a half-game back from the West’s No. 1 seed.

Many things have happened during the 2023-24 NBA season for the Phoenix Suns, some for the better, others for the worse. The Suns still hope to contend for the title, as they’ve assembled a Big Three that features some of the league’s best scorers.

Their 35-26 record doesn’t show much for a few fans, but the current group still has a chance in the tough Western Conference.

It’s also worth noting that the Suns have slowed down after the All-Star break, losing four of their last six games. Devin Booker has recently suffered an ankle sprain, and the team won’t have his services for the coming weeks. Additionally, there have been a few changes in the roster this season. That has affected how players have performed throughout the campaign.

End of bench guys

Ish Wainwright: Wainwright is returning to the Suns after playing seven games with the Portland Trail Blazers, which is why there’s nothing to review about him yet.

David Roddy: Roddy was traded but has only appeared in five games, only scoring once for the Suns this season.

Saben Lee: While under a two-way deal, Lee has only played 18 games this season, and he’s made the most of his chances despite averaging 8.1 minutes.

Bol Bol: Bol has been a fan-favorite this season, even performing well over the last four games, but that won’t last as the Suns are a better contributor.

Thaddeus Young: The veteran forward, Young, was traded to the Suns, but he’s yet to play and find a role within the team, making it hard to assess him.

Rotation Players

Josh Okogie: Okogie started strong but has not been a decent contributor, gradually losing his time on the floor.

Drew Eubanks: Eubanks is a hard worker who gives energy off the bench and has done his job as a backup big surprisingly well, even with fewer minutes.

Eric Gordon: Experience has been the weapon of Gordon — who provides a significant boost off the bench when the starters rest, making him extremely valuable.

Royce O’Neale: O’Neale has been a great pickup off the trade deadline as he fits perfectly in the Suns’ offense and provides intelligent defense from the perimeter.

Starters

Jusuf Nurkic: Not many fans like the acquisition of Nurkic at first, but he’s proven to be the perfect, selfless center the Suns need in their quest for a title.

Grayson Allen: This season’s biggest surprise has been the improved game of Allen, who can be a trusted shooter even with a blindfold, leading the league in threes with 46 percent efficiency, making him the team’s third option on more than one occasion.

Bradley Beal: After missing a significant amount of games at the start, Beal has blossomed as the team’s third/fourth option, but he needs to be confidently healthy to be precisely effective.

Devin Booker: Booker has matured in his approach, which has made the Suns a sizeable threat this season, averaging 27.5 points and 6.8 assists while shooting 49.4 percent from the field.

Kevin Durant: Durant may be on the older side, but he scored 27.8 points effortlessly this season and will be a significant factor in their title hopes.
