Golden State Warriors Linked to Wild Blockbuster Jimmy Butler Trade Deal With Miami Heat

Jimmy Butler’s days with the Miami Heat might be numbered and apparently, a sensational move to the Golden State Warriors could be in the books for the six-time All-Star. The Heat could be forced to trade their superstar forward if they are unable to agree on a contract extension, and the Warriors could suddenly emerge as an interested suitor should Butler find himself on the trade block.

Golden State Warriors Expected to Enter Jimmy Butler Sweepstakes

At the moment, the Philadelphia 76ers have been touted as the biggest threat to Butler’s tenure in South Beach. The Sixers are reportedly willing to offer Butler the max deal he is seeking, which is something that might not be in the books for him in Miami.

However, according to Warriors insider Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Golden State is also a team to watch should Butler become available on the trade market:

“If the Heat shop Jimmy Butler, I would expect the Warriors to enter the conversation to at least some degree,” Slater wrote.

It is unclear what type of trade package the Warriors will need to come up with to entice the Heat, but you can be sure that Golden State will need to make a significant sacrifice in order to meet Miami’s potential price tag.

Brandon Ingram NOT an Option for Dubs

Another name that has been dragged into several trade rumors of late is New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram. Slater reports, however, that he “would not expect the Warriors to show interest” if the Pelicans begin shopping the former All-Star.

I guess that’s one name you can cross off the list. Then again, this is a very fluid situation for the Warriors, so you can be sure that there is going to be a lot more trade buzz surrounding this team as the offseason heats up.
