Tom Brady’s legacy expands as he transitions from player to NFL owner with historic deal close at hand
Brady will likely be in Dallas this week to cover the exciting game from the Lions and Cowboys

Tom Brady’s name is practically synonymous with success in the NFL, often hailed as the greatest of all time. His record speaks for itself: seven Super Bowl victories out of ten appearances, 89,214 career passing yards, 7,753 completions, 649 touchdown passes, and 333 games started. Brady also holds the NFL records for most career quarterback wins (251), playoff wins (35), and Super Bowl MVP Awards (5), making him the only player to claim that honor for two different franchises. While entire books could be written about Brady’s accomplishments, what stands out most is his incredible longevity. He is the only quarterback to win a Super Bowl in three separate decades and holds titles as the oldest NFL MVP (at 40) and the oldest Super Bowl MVP (at 43).
A New Chapter: Ownership of the Raiders
Tom Brady’s proposed deal to become a part owner of the Las Vegas Raiders is approaching a critical phase, with NFL owners expected to vote on the agreement at their meeting this month in Atlanta or in December in Dallas. Brady, serving as a first-time NFL analyst for Fox, has been involved in negotiations since the spring of 2023. The deal’s financial aspects have improved significantly, and despite concerns over the discounted price, the current offer is substantially higher than the initial proposal. A source familiar with the deal stated, “I see it getting done. … I think it’ll get there because Brady’s good for the league.” At least 24 out of 32 owners must approve the transaction for it to proceed. All this reported by Mark Maske of the Washington Post.

While Brady’s broadcasting role raised concerns among some NFL owners, measures have been taken to limit his access to teams and facilities, ensuring that his role with Fox does not interfere with his potential ownership responsibilities. Brady and Knighthead Capital Management are looking to acquire around 10% of the Raiders. The NFL’s finance committee is expected to finalize the approval soon, with sources indicating that key issues, such as valuation and Brady’s role as an NFL analyst, have been resolved.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport noted, “Sources with direct knowledge of this situation said that many of the issues such as the valuation and Brady’s role as a FOX broadcaster have been addressed and worked through-and are now in a much better place.” Additionally, Brady is already a part owner of the Las Vegas Aces and continues to pursue ventures within the sports world following his retirement after the 2022 NFL season.
Brady’s Transition to Broadcasting
After five weeks as a broadcaster, Tom Brady has been analyzing games from the booth. Like many former players who transition to television, he initially appeared tense and somewhat unmotivated. However, as he gains confidence, his commentary has improved. While nothing extraordinary, he has been performing well, bringing a unique perspective to the games. Brady’s insights and experience are becoming a valuable addition to NFL broadcasts, after all, he is the most successful player and the most popular figure in the history of the league.
With his remarkable legacy and new ventures, Tom Brady continues to shape the NFL landscape both on and off the field.
