Miami Heat News: NBA Insider Shares Honest Take on Wild Jimmy Butler Rumor

There are plenty of questions surrounding the Miami Heat this season, but nothing takes the attention of Heat fans more than Jimmy Butler’s contract situation with the Heat. Their franchise player has been a great boost to the team’s chances since arriving in 2019, but the circumstances surrounding his current deal brings up an interesting conversation.

The 34-year-old’s five-year deal with the Heat is expiring next summer should Butler decide to pick up his player option. While he’s been great for the Heat over the five years he’s been with the organization, Pat Riley and the rest of the Miami hierarchy must also consider the team’s future.

Many NBA execs think Miami will keep him because of the value he brings. However, one analyst shares and defense a while take where he believes the team would part ways with their veteran superstar.

Analyst explains log behind wild idea of Jimmy Butler leaving the Miami Heat

It’s unimaginable to see Butler leave Miami as he’s become the embodiment of everything Miami wants to become as a basketball team. He’s led the team on and off the court to become an exciting team of basketball players who play gritty but highly effective basketball.

However, one insider wrote that talks have surfaced about the star possibly leaving Miami. With one fan calling the rumor BS, he defended his report with a clarificatory post on social media.

Per Heat Nation’s Mike Battaglino:

After NBA insider Kurt Helin wrote in a story that there have been “rumblings” that the Heat could be open to parting ways with Butler instead of extending him, the news made the rounds on social media.

Later, the article was seemingly updated to include some important qualifiers — that the rumblings have come from other teams and that it’s still likely that Butler will ultimately stay with the Heat.

Jimmy Butler’s stats make is easy to see why teams are floating the idea of him leaving the Miami Heat. He averaged 20.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists on 49.9% shooting and 41.4% from deep this season.

While he was injured for the majority of the Heat’s first-round loss to the Boston Celtics, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that he can turn up the heat in the postseason. His postseason heroics boosts his value to the Heat and other teams that want to have him.

While other teams will try to pry him away from the Heat, it’s more possible for the Marquette product to finish his career in South Beach.
