Tight end with the Green Bay Packers Luke Musgrave claims he played despite having a lacerated kidney

I’ve already had a few opportunities this NFL season to write about athletes who are playing through injuries that would cripple a weaker man like myself. We’re talking about Miami Dolphins linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel playing with a broken nose and Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Robert Spillane not only playing with a shattered right hand, but then playing again five days later. Next up is Green Bay Packers rookie tight end Luke Musgrave, who confessed today that he played with a lacerated kidney that would cost him numerous games.

I mean, how on earth is this possible? I had four kidney stones last summer, and for a month all I wanted to do was sleep, cry, and lie in bed with a heating pad wrapped across my midsection. I was barely recognizable as a human being. It was impossible for me to run to the food store. Meanwhile, Luke Musgrave was out on the field running routes despite having a lacerated kidney. I’m just not getting it.

It’s fantastic news that Luke Musgrave took the time to rest and recover, and he’s now ready to return to the field for a Green Bay Packers club that is still vying for one of the three wild card positions remaining in the NFC Playoff picture. Musgrave was carving out a nice role in the Packers offense before to suffering the kidney injury. Despite missing four games due to his injury, Musgrave is still the Packers’ third-leading receiver this season.

Fans were ecstatic when the Los Angeles Rams signed Crosby earlier this season. A week later, he was released by the Rams. Crosby will get another chance this season, with only three games remaining, according to reports today.

Former Green Bay Packers Kicker Mason Crosby Signs With New Team As Season Nears Its’ End

After 258 consecutive games with the Packers (a franchise record), Crosby was not activated for the one game he spent with the Rams organization.  Now with just three weeks left in the 2023 season, Crosby may have an opportunity to show the league he still has it.

Crosby has been good on 81.4% of his field goal attempts throughout the course of his career. Since the league moved the extra point try back in 2015, he has made 95.4% of his extra point attempts. The Giants got one of the better kickers in NFL history on their side for the final stretch of the season.
