Tottenham wants to sign a “special” £26 million player this month, according to Fabrizio Romano

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to wrap up a deal for Club Brugge forward Antonio Nusa ‘as soon as possible’.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has shared the latest on Tottenham’s interest in the Norwegian starlet.

Spurs have been locked in talks with Club Brugge over a deal to sign Antonio Nusa over the past few days.

Recent reports suggested that Tottenham are confident about completing a deal to sign the 18-year-old and want terms agreed this week.

Should Tottenham get this one over the line, Nusa is likely to remain in Belgium until the end of the season before moving to north London this summer.

And Romano has claimed that Spurs are desperate to sign the youngster as they believe he’s a ‘special’ talent.

Tottenham desperate to wrap up Nusa deal

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano shared the latest on Nusa’s potential move to Tottenham.

“They really want him because they believe Antonio Nusa is going to be a special player,” the transfer insider said. “He is a special talent in a position where Tottenham need someone for the present and future, so that is why they are pushing.

“They also know that there are other clubs interested in Antonio Nusa, especially in England, so they want to be fast and close the deal as soon as possible.

“Tottenham are going to have new contacts with Club Brugge in the next days again for Nusa. I think this is going to be their big focus in the next days.”

Spurs are attempting to steal a march on rivals by landing Nusa this month, with Chelsea also said to be keen.

The winger’s form for Brugge has caught the attention of a host of top clubs. Nusa has netted four goals and provided three assists in 27 appearances this season.

The £26 million-rated forward has also earned four caps for Norway and scored on his debut back in July.

Despite the likelihood that Nusa wouldn’t link up with the Spurs squad until the summer, this would be a smart move from the north London club.

Tottenham are lacking a player who excels in 1v1 situations and Nusa would certainly provide Postecoglou with that type of threat down the left-hand side.
